As a proud second-generation Latinx psychotherapist, Juan-David Rivera-Del Valle, LCSW, DSW is fiercely committed to providing therapy that both acknowledges and respects the unique intersectionality of each client. As a proficient, empathetic, affirming person of color, Dr. Rivera Del-Valle is dedicated to creating a safe and reassuring space that facilitates their clients’ exploration of cognitive and relationship patterns. Keenly aware of the intricate societal challenges and struggles that these individuals endure, they are a fervent advocate for decolonizing psychotherapy.

With well over a decade of experience, Dr. Rivera-Del Valle continues to deliver expert psychotherapy to people of all ages along the entire spectrum of diagnoses, and with varying levels of symptom intensity. Their areas of expertise include psychotherapy provided to BIPOC, Queer, Transgender, Neurodiverse, LGBTQ2SIA+, and Kink-identified individuals.

Dr. Rivera Del-Valle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who holds a Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Southern California, a Master of Social Work from the New York University, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the City University of New York. In addition, they also hold certifications in TF CBT, Mindfulness, CBT, Couples level I, and Diagnosis and Treatment of Sexual Addictions.

Dr. Rivera Del-Valle’s broad range of education, skills, and clinical experience elevates the Wombat MHS Board’s capacity to achieve its mission and vision. Their advocacy for BIPOC equity in behavioral health advances the Wombat MHS Board’s intent to dismantle inequities in accessing mental health services.
