Words of Depression

October 6th, 2022

October 6 is National Depression Screening Day. Depression can affect your mind, body and soul. It can also alter your thoughts, moods and actions. Depression can affect your job, interest, well being, perception on life and even affect those around you. We may have temporary feelings of sadness and depression, but these feelings should not be “tolerated” forever.  Depression may make you feel helpless but there are ways to help, just know you are not alone in this battle. The first step to treating depression is knowing if you are depressed.  Take a free assessment here at Mental Health America.  Once you are ready to take the next step towards treatment and transform the words of depression, we will be here for you.

If you feel the need to speak with someone now, you can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988 or Text the word “HOME” to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line. For more resources visit the CDC website.
